I GOT THE SHOT AND ALMOST DIED! I went into anaphlylatic shock, almost died and then (after getting out of ICU) proceeded to have two more extreme reactions over the course of 1 week. I went hystonic the second time and had excessive vomitting for two days as a third reaction, requiring hospitalization. I AM NOT ALLERGIC TO EGGS AND HAVE NEVER REACTED TO A VACCINE BEFORE. There were several reactions in my area within one day(one lady seizing within 5 minutes of me, one while I was waiting in line, another call while I was in the ambulance, but apparently NONE according to Health Canada. PLEASE USE MY EXPERIENCE AS AN EXAMPLE. GlaxoKlineSmith. has immunity against prosecution. WHAT THE HELL DO THEY CARE IF THE VACCINE IS DEADLY? It has been 8 days and I am still suffering.

She is high risk health care worker..I begged her not to get shot. But she did anyway to protect her residents. She thought she may be getting a cold on Wed. She went into resp and cardiac arrest on Sat. They say double pnumonia. septic. She has been on life support for the last five days. She is not breathing on her own, she is in medically induced heavy sedation/coma. One has something to do with the other..what does it take to get medically advised not to take these damn shots???

I am a firm believer that the swine flu vaccine I received a few weeks ago contributed to my son’s demise. My baby was very active and then I received the vaccine. After that, I noticed a change in his activity and then I noticed no movement over the weekend. When I went into the doctor’s office yesterday, there was no heartbeat and I was induced. I would not wish this pain on my worse enemy. To carry a child for 6 1/2 months and then lose him is worse than anything imaginable.

hi everyone, im 21 years old and I got the H1N1 shot on friday morning. Ive been on the fence about this shot for a few weeks but finally decided that I did not want to be a carrier and just to go for it.

About 5-10 minutes after the shot I fainted, but they let me go half an hour later when my blood pressure was back to normal. immediately i started to worry i was having severe allergic reactions or signs of GBS. About 2 hours later at work I started to get tingling sensations in my right leg (I got the shot in my left arm), and I started to worry. It is now about 30 hours post shot and i just came home from work because i had a panick attack that i was getting GBS. My right arm started to tingle a while ago, and i have what seems like a big lump in my throat (ive been crying so maybe its from crying). Currently my legs are tingling and i am a giant stressball.

I got vaccinated 17 days ago. At first, had the sore arm and swollen lymph nodes which went away after 3 days... then day 4 woke up with weak legs... weakness progressed making it difficult to stand for more than 10 min. at a time. Was able to walk but felt very shaky. Day 11 woke up with arm in the same weakened state... as my legs. Weakness progressed to the point that I had to go to emerge on Day 14...did a battery of tests, which show nothing..... now Day 17 weakness in arm gone, but still in the legs.... has anyone had anything like this? I haven't come across anyone with a similar reaction...I'm really concerned about when it's going to go... GBS has been 100% ruled out...

I live in Toronto, Canada and got the h1n1 non-adjuvanted vaccine for pregnant women on Tues Nov 10th. I was 4 1/2 wks along. I started spotting next day but tried not to worry because i thought it may have been implantation spotting, next day I started bleeding heavily. I have miscarried the baby. Like you i will never know if it was the vaccine or not however it is heartwrenching to go through something like this. I have had 2 healthy full term pregnancies, no history of miscarriages, am healthy so I know in my heart the vaccine had to do with my loss.

I had the H1N1 vaccination about 6 weeks ago and the needle became jammed (the medicine had to be transferred to a second needle) and hurt immensely; the second shot felt normal. The nurses at the health department said that they had had alot of trouble with the needles that the state had provided (they were bigger, lo...nger and less likely to work as well as the normal needles they use do). The injection was in my left arm and I still can not move it without severe pain. I have notified my doctor and the health department and they are quite concerned, but have no idea of what is the matter or what to do. I am posting this information in the hopes that it will be helpful in the research/tracking of the vaccine and would love to hear from anyone who has had similar reaction of suggestions for relief and/or a remedy!

My friend was diagnosed w/GBS today. She had the H1N1 vaccine on Tuesday. She woke up friday morn. with one side of her face paralized, now almost her whole face is paralized. She is starting blood and plasma transfusions tonight. She will be transferred to Barnes hospital soon for more extensive testing. To those who laugh at the severity of this strange, unknown sickness and vaccine I hope you stay informed and not ignorant.

I am a 39 year old healthy female with no underlying health conditions and was feeling fine. I received the adjuvanted H1N1 shot on the afternoon of October 25/09 in Ottawa. I have had a reaction to the regular flu shot in the past so I do not get them; so I expected a reaction to this one as well. The reaction was much worse than I expected. By 9pm that evening I could barely move my arm it was so sore; I also felt a bit anxious and shaky. By 12:30 at night, I was sweaty and shaky and had a fever of 38.8 and lay awake unable to sleep till about 3:30 am. By the morning, I couldn’t lift my arm and my hand/wrist was swollen and I still had a fever…I took Tylenol and spent the day at home resting. I had wicked chills and my skin was crawling and I still had a fever. By the next morning, my fever had dropped to 37.5 and I started to feel better. It took a week to feel mostly back to normal. I then developed a really bad cold and sinus infection with a cough too so went to the doctor. Asked about the reaction to the shot and was told that likely I am allergic to one of the preservatives in the shot. Not a happy camper at all as I sat on the fence for awhile and tried to educate myself as best as I could before getting the shot.

Despite taking benadryl 50mg every 4 hours x 4 cycles, the hives just kept on getting worse to the point I was red like a lobster from my neck to my knees and it was spreading out more and more. I started Prednisone this afternoon and finally starting to get better!

I have no other medical conditions and had 3 other healthy and to term pregnancies. I work in a hospital setting and was pushed by my employer to get vaccinated. My gut told me no but I did it anyway… now living to regret it.

I’m getting over it slowly but still occasional sore throat, sick stomach, chest wheeze.

I had the shot on Tuesday, after much pressuring by my medical employer. I wish I had stuck with my first thought which was to leave well alone. I get the winter shot every year and the H1N1 virus in in it. The swine flu is H1N1v. a sub group.
Tuesday evening my arm started hurting and I had nausea.
Wednesday morning i had a local reaction the size of a saucer on my arm. it was hot, swollen red and very painfull.

I had an ultrasound at 14 weeks on Oct 29th 2009 reporting all was well with myself and the baby. On that same day I received both the flu shot and the H1N1 shot. Two weeks later I went for a routine check up where the doctor could not find the heartbeat. I had another ultrasound showing no heartbeat or activity. After reveiwing the scan my OB said the baby died 12 days prior which would have been two days after the shot was administered. On Friday the 13th 2009 I had a DNC. I asked my doctor if that shot could’ve played a role in this “missed miscarriage”. He said absolutely not.

She lost her hearing, got diarreah, felt like she was going to pass out, heart heart was very racey, she felt like she couldn't breath, she was slurring her speech, her head felt very blurry/foggy etc.. She really did not want to get it to begin with and the doctor talked her into it. She said she will not get it again that's for sure. She said she thought she was gonna die. And as if she had a stroke. She is fine now but it took awhile for her to feel better. They kept her in the office for a while to keep an eye on her.

Last night Kerrie left me a message saying the doctors, and specialist have spoken with the parents and admitted it is due to the h1n1 vaccine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a friend of mine today shared that her daughters friend ( a teenager) had taken the vax, and that same day she was bathing and became instantly ill… she felt light headed to the point of passing out, couldn’t communicate, managed to get her house coat on, head spinning and got down stairs opened the front door so she could yell out for help because she didn’t know what was happening to her. she passed out at the door.

Did anyone one else experience that? I too had the shot and had a sore arm and it was soar to lift but i think everyone had that. His arm is almost able to extend fully now but it still shakes. Would I get the shot if i were to do it all again. NO WAY!

I am so upset. I was so excited to be pregnant after trying for a year. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I joined this birth club and I was due June 25th. We have two healthy boys with no history of miscarriage. Everything was going great. Last Monday, I got the H1N1 vaccine thimerosal reduced (mercury reduced for pregnant women). On Tuesday morning, I started cramping and on Wednesday I started bleeding heavily. My hcg was 50 on Wednesday and I was almost 6 weeks along so it was low. They still thought that I might be pregnant but on Friday my hcg was down to 22. I am an emotional wreck. I feel like I had a healthy baby and I caused this by getting the H1N1 vaccine. My doctors pushed it. I researched online and there have been many miscarriages after the H1N1 vaccine but they haven't been reported since it is hard to say what caused the miscarriages. I hope that I did not cause this. I wish everyone the best.

My wife (49) had the two shots yesterday (Nov.20th) at noon and at 11PM she had wicked chills and fever.No sleep all night, and I treated her with Advil. I don't have an answer for you, but a friend of a friend just had a miscarriage 2-3 days after getting the shot. She was 7weeks. She had no previous history of m/c No one can answer if they're related...it hasn't been out long enough and there haven't been any studies done on pregnant women. I will tell you, that it has made up my mind on getting it...I won't and I'm not going to get it for my DD either. My daughter and I both had H1N1 last week, and although it truly sucks...I think I'll take my chances. One doctor will tell you to get it and the next will tell you not too...you have to do what's in your heart.

my heart goes out to you as i recently miscarried as well and was due in june. i had a healthy heart beat at 6wks. then at 7.5 wks my son got the h1n1 mist vaccine which has live vaccine in it. the nurse said to be careful b/c it could technically spread if he rubbed his nose and touched a surface etc. the next night i miscarried and 5 days later was diagnosed with h1n1. i work from home, kids are home, hadnt been anywhere during that time. so the chances that it is all related are very high. the flu mist vaccine warns for immunocompromised patients (which includes prego) to stay away from recipients of the flu mist for 21 days.

I already had two healthy pregnancies and never miscarried or had any problems. My doctors think I am crazy to think it was the H1N1 but if no one looks into this than other women will not know. I am so sorry that I got it.

I’m in Cornwall Ontario, have heard a couple of friends and their children coming down with the flu after only a few short hours of having the H1N1 vaccine, and have heard of several others neighbors and friends on my facebook that have said they were very ill after receiving the shot, including high fevers, the flu, major of their arm, grogginess. and in bed for a few days etc.

Also I was told by a friend who was visiting a Cornwall nursing home that he overheard nurses speaking and that they were saying of their residents had went crippled from the H1N1 vaccine!

I also received the H1N1 vaccination on October 22nd, 2009 and went into labor on October 25th, at 16 weeks pregnant and we just heard the heartbeat and everything was fine with my pregnancy on October 16th, 2009, then on October 28th my water broke then on October 29th, I delivered a stillborn baby boy, and no one can tell me why…Everyone wants to say it did not come from the shot but I believe it did. My baby was growing at the correct pace and everyone wants to brush off the vaccination. I say if you have the vaccination and suffer a miscarriage if they are able to perform an autopsy have it done.

I also agree something needs to be done and looked more into with this vaccination because most women are being advised it’s just something that happens, but I also had two healthy children normal pregnancies and when I received this vaccination with my third pregnancy, my baby is gone.

I felt sick all weekend, and missed work yesterday. I am at work today, but still feel very weak and am experiencing strange sensations in my hands and feet.

I received the H1N1 vaccine on October 16th and started experiencing cramping on the 22nd. I was nearly 17 weeks pregnant and gave birth to a stillborn baby boy on the 23rd. Like many of the other women here, the first thing I suspected was the H1N1 vaccine. I immediately asked a nurse at the hospital if that would have anything to do with it. Without hesitation, she told me “absolutely not.” I had reservations about getting the vaccine, but followed the advice of my long trusted family doctor. In a follow up appointment with my doctor 3 days after I lost my baby, I asked him if the vaccine would have had any adverse effects on my baby. He also said that it was not possible. I don’t believe that my doctor was necessarily lying to me, he was simply following the accepted practices and opinions of his field. I do, however, believe that as a nation, we are being lied to. This vaccine is NOT safe during pregnancy. There has not been enough testing done to determine this and there are far too many “coincidences” for this to be anything but a result of a vaccine that was hastily pushed into production and distribution in an effort to stop widespread panic. I have read so many stories in defense of the vaccine that will talk about how common miscarriages are, but I would challenge you to ask ANY health care professional how common second trimester miscarriages are. My baby was doing perfect developmentally.....and I had felt him move earlier that day. My heart goes out to all of you out there who have had to go through the same heartache and loss that I have had in the last couple of weeks. There is no reason that any woman or family should have to go through this. Get the word out to all of the pregnant women that you know. I know that if I had heard that women had been losing their babies shortly after they received the vaccine, I would have followed my gut and not gotten it myself. Maybe then Wyatt would have had a chance at life.

I had the regular H1N1 vaccination on Monday, November 16th in the morning. I was fine until about 1:00 in the morning (now Tuesday). I awoke with severe stomach pains and diarhea. This lasted until Saturday – off and on. On Tuesday afternoon, I suddenly felt very exhausted and then started coughing, had a headache, a fever, muscle achiness and just felt basically rotten. Here it is now Sunday evening, and I am still not feeling great. My stomach pains are gone, but all the rest remains, although not as bad as a couple of days ago. My fever is lower than before (it was usually around 38.6 – 39), but still comes and goes.

My arm has been sore most of the week, but nothing I couldn’t handle until last night. The pain has really increased and now there is a red spot where the injection site was. My whole arm is sore now and very difficult to lift and extremely sore if I role on it while laying down (which is something I must do a lot of right now).

I got the shot on october 21 i have went to the hospital 4 times because i felt like i couldnt breathe shaking and felt nausea. after about 10 days i started felling better it lasted almost 2 weeks of feeling good then yesterday i ended up at the hospital again they checked my blood did a nerve test and said everthing was good but iam still experiencing tingling in my arms and legs and feeling like vomiting very damn scary and i so regret getting the vaccination

I’m from a town of 2000 in SD, there are several women pregnant and we are all due within a few weeks of each other. Four of us got the H1N1 vaccine 2 weeks ago and one by one each of us started to have preterm contractions. We are all due in Nov and Dec so we are further along than most of the people that lost their babies. There is no way you can tell us that our preterm labor was not caused by the H1N1 vaccine. It may look like a “fluke” to some people when these women are scattered all over the country but we are talking about 4 of us in our small community. My heart goes out to all of you that lost your babies.

I received adjuvant vaccine. 3 days later, developed rt side back pain with tingling in feet. Tingling has persisted mostly on feet up to calves, sometimes on hands. After the tingling, sometimes have a tight, weak feeling in the calf/foot muscles. This is now Day 16 post vaccination. Symptoms are no better but do wax and wane, most often they are present. Have reported this to Public Health and have seen a specialist but can get no reassurance or prognosis. They don’t know if it is temporary or permanent and can offer no advice. They just don’t know enough about this vaccine. Have spent every day worrying about Guillain Barre and whether this is permanent.

It would be hard to imagine anyone reading those heartbreaking stories without getting incredibly disturbed. Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of environmental extremists who would be more than happy for large chunks of the earth's population to suddenly perish. In fact, The United Nations Population Fund has just released its annual State of the World Population Report, and in that report the UNPF openly declares that population growth needs to be reduced in order to combat climate change.

Troubling Reports Out Of Iowa And North Carolina Raise Fears That Deadly H1N1 Swine Flu Mutations Have Already Reached The United States
Iowa has officially recorded 21 H1N1 deaths, including seven in Polk County alone. But the county’s medical examiner said he has performed autopsies on some residents who were never diagnosed with H1N1, but actually had it. “In the autopsy, what we’re seeing is very heavy, wet hemorrhagic lungs, lungs with a lot of blood in them,” said Dr. Gregory Schmunk.

New reports from Iowa and North Carolina are raising concerns that the deadly H1N1 swine flu mutations that have been confirmed by the WHO in Ukraine, Norway and elsewhere have already reached the United States. In Iowa, a report that doctors are seeing “very heavy, wet hemorrhagic lungs, lungs with a lot of blood in them” in H1N1 patients is creating concerns among health experts that the deadly Ukraine H1N1 has already spread there.

In addition, a report of Tamiflu-resistant H1N1 swine flu in North Carolina is raising questions about the ability of medical authorities to combat H1N1 if thousands of people do start dying. If deadly H1N1 swine flu mutations have already reached the United States, what does that mean? Doctors in Ukraine have been reporting that victims of H1N1 there are experiencing violent hemorrhaging in their lungs. As the patients near death, their lungs reportedly become as “black as charcoal” and literally begin to disintegrate. Will this start happening soon inside the U.S.?

The news report causing the most concern today is the one about H1N1 patients in Iowa. Commenting on a dramatic spike in H1N1 deaths in Iowa, Dr. Gregory Schmunk told KCCI news that what doctors there are seeing ”is very heavy, wet hemorrhagic lungs, lungs with a lot of blood in them.”

Hemorrhagic lungs that are filled with blood?

That sounds precisely like what is taking place in Ukraine.

Last week, the WHO confirmed that an H1N1 mutation had been discovered in Ukraine. This H1N1 mutation involved a receptor binding domain change, and it is apparently causing the H1N1 virus to become much more virulent.

Just like the new report in Iowa, many victims of H1N1 in Ukraine have been experiencing violent hemorrhaging in the lungs. Temperatures inside the lungs of patients in Ukraine have been reported to be as high as 135 degrees Fahrenheit. As the patient near death, the lungs turn to mush and literally become as black as charcoal.


In fact, one doctor in Western Ukraine was quoted as saying the following about what is happening to the lungs of these patients…

“We have carried out post mortems on two victims and found their lungs are as black as charcoal. They look like they have been burned. It’s terrifying.”

If that wasn’t bad enough, the WHO has now confirmed that the same H1N1 mutation has shown up in Norway.

Norway’s Institute of Public Health has released a statement in which they announced that this mutation “could possibly…cause more severe disease” because it apparently infects tissue deeper in the airway than usual.

Not only that, but today Hong Kong’s Department of Health has confirmed that it has found the same mutation in a H1N1 flu virus sample as the one detected in Norway recently.

Hong Kong is on the other side of the world from Ukraine and Norway.

What in the world is going on?

Nobody knows for sure, but the truth is that the increasing similarities between the current H1N1 outbreak and the 1918 “Spanish flu” outbreak are becoming too striking to ignore.

Firstly, both the current outbreak and the 1918 Spanish flu are from the H1N1 family.

Secondly, both the current outbreak and the 1918 Spanish flu have the same mutation that is currently being reported in Ukraine, Norway and Hong Kong.

Thirdly, the hemorrhagic deaths that victims are experiencing in Ukraine closely mirror the kind of deaths experienced by victims of the 1918 Spanish flu. Just consider the following description of 1918 Spanish flu deaths from Wikipedia…

“One of the most striking of the complications was hemorrhage from mucous membranes, especially from the nose, stomach, and intestine. Bleeding from the ears and petechial hemorrhages in the skin also occurred.” The majority of deaths were from bacterial pneumonia, a secondary infection caused by influenza, but the virus also killed people directly, causing massive hemorrhages and edema in the lung.”

You would think this stunning information would be so important that the mainstream media would be all over it, but sadly that is not the case. Instead they seem intent on covering the opening of the “New Moon” movie and whatever Barack Obama had for breakfast this morning.

But not only is the mutation discussed above a tremendous concern, but now there are confirmed reports that Tamiflu-resistant H1N1 is spreading.

Recently a Tamiflu-resistant strain of the H1N1 swine flu was reported to have been discovered in Wales, and now a Tamiflu-resistant cluster of the H1N1 swine flu has been reported in North Carolina.

However, medical authorities don’t seem overly concerned. Dr. Alicia Frye, epidemiologist in the CDC’s flu division, said in a prepared statement that “at this time we don’t have any information that should raise concerns for the general population.”

If the best drugs medical authorities have will soon not work against H1N1, perhaps the public should be concerned.

Meanwhile the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention has announced that swine flu deaths in Europe are doubling every two weeks.

Scientists Recreate 1918 Flu and See Parallels to Bird Flu

Scientists infected monkeys with a virus that caused the 1918-19 influenza pandemic and said in the Jan. 18 issue of the journal Nature that it caused an illness like that suffered by patients with the bird flu now spreading in Asia.

Infection with a reconstructed version of the 1918 virus, known as the Spanish flu, incited a deadly chemical reaction in the laboratory animals, a group of scientists said in the magazine.

The group was led by Darwyn Kobasa, a researcher for the Public Health Agency of Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Both the Spanish flu and H5N1 bird flu in Asia appear able to set off the reaction, the researchers said. Studying the Spanish flu virus’s interaction with monkeys may help health officials prepare for a possible pandemic caused by H5N1.

“We see responses that are similar between humans infected with H5N1 and nonhuman primates infected with the 1918 virus,” said Yoshihiro Kawaoka, a virologist at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. “By studying this model in detail, we may learn to cope with those immune responses.”

The 1918 flu may have killed as many as 50 million people, about 2 percent of those infected. Researchers say the outbreak started as a bird virus, until genetic changes enabled it to spread in people.

Similar mutations may allow H5N1 to set off a pandemic, researchers say. The bird flu has infected 267 people, mostly poultry workers or keepers in Asia, and killed 161 of them since late 2003, according to data compiled by the World Health Organization.

While the study points to an immune response as a probable cause for the destructiveness.. of the 1918 flu, researchers are still learning about the virus, said Michael Katze, a microbiologist at the National Primate Research Center at the University of Washington in Seattle.

“We know very little about why these viruses are so lethal,” Dr. Katze said.

Research has shown that H5N1 kills mice, causing the same kind of chemical reaction, called a cytokine storm, seen in the monkeys. Many other flu viruses are also fatal in mice, and the researchers said it was important to conduct studies in primates.

In 2005, Army scientists reported that they had reconstructed the Spanish flu virus by extracting genetic fragments from the bodies of victims exhumed from the Alaskan permafrost. American and Canadian researchers compared the effects of the virus on monkeys with those of seasonal flus.

The 1918 virus grew faster and spread more widely in the monkeys than the other viruses. While the immune reaction to the seasonal viruses abated after a few days, the response in monkeys with Spanish flu persisted, damaging tissues and impairing lung function, the study said.

Oct 5, 2005 (CIDRAP News) – Scientists today reported findings that may help explain what made the 1918 pandemic influenza virus so deadly and that reveal similarities between that virus and the H5N1 avian influenza virus now circulating in Asia.

Scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reconstructed the virus and tested it in laboratory animals, which quickly died. The CDC says the work, to be reported in Science, will enhance preparedness for the next flu pandemic, a potential benefit believed to justify the risk of recreating the virus and publishing the information.

In the other study, researchers at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) report that the close resemblance of the 1918 virus to avian flu viruses suggests that the 1918 virus was an avian strain that managed to adapt to humans without first acquiring any genes from existing human flu viruses. Further, the researchers found that several of the same mutations that differentiated the 1918 virus from avian flu viruses are found in the H5N1 virus, which has killed more than 60 people in Asia. The report appears in Nature.

The 1918 flu pandemic, regarded as the worst in history, killed as many as 100 million people. In recent years scientists have been able to learn the structure of the H1N1 virus that caused it by analyzing samples preserved from pandemic victims, including tissue from a frozen body exhumed in Alaska and material stored in the AFIP's warehouse of autopsy samples.

In a joint statement today, the directors of the CDC and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), Dr. Julie Gerberding and Dr. Anthony Fauci, said, "For the first time, researchers have deciphered the entire gene sequence of the 1918 virus and have used sophisticated techniques to assemble viruses that bear some or all of these genes so their effects can be understood.

"Importantly, they have identified gene sequences that may predict when an influenza virus strain is likely to spread among humans. They also have determined in the test tube and in mice which genes are most likely to account for the lethal effects of the 1918 virus." The statement was released by the NIAID.

"The new studies could have an immediate impact by helping scientists focus on detecting changes in the evolving H5N1 virus that might make widespread transmission among humans more likely," the statement said.

Because of concern that terrorists could exploit the information, both articles were reviewed by the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity before publication, according to the NIAID statement. The board unanimously endorsed publishing them.

"The rationale for publishing the results and making them widely available to the scientific community is to encourage additional research at a time when we desperately need to engage the scientific community and accelerate our ability to prevent pandemic influenza," Gerberding and Fauci stated.

Resurrection of the 1918 virus
In the Science article, Terrence M. Tumpey and colleagues report that they generated a flu virus bearing all eight gene segments of the 1918 virus in order to study what made it so virulent. They exposed groups of mice to that virus and to other viruses in which some of the 1918 virus's genes were replaced by genes from recent flu viruses.

The 1918 virus turned out to be extremely virulent. Mice infected with it died in as little as 3 days, and mice that survived as long as 4 days had 39,000 times as many virus particles in their lungs as did mice infected with a control flu virus, a Texas strain of H1N1 from 1991. All the mice infected with the 1918 virus died, while those exposed to the Texas strain survived. Further, the 1918 virus was at least 100 times as lethal as an engineered virus that contained five 1918 genes and three genes from the Texas H1N1 strain.

The researchers found that the mice had severe inflammation in their lungs and bronchial passages—findin..gs very similar to those in people who died of the 1918 virus. However, the virus did not spread in the mice to the brain, heart, liver, or spleen.

The scientists also tested the virus's behavior in a laboratory culture of human lung cells. Within 24 hours, the lung cells released at least 50 times as much virus as did lung cells infected with the Texas H1N1 strain.

In comparing the 1918 virus with recombinant viruses containing only some of the 1918 genes, the researchers found that the 1918 hemagglutinin and polymerase genes were "essential for optimal virulence." The complete 1918 virus was more pathogenic for mice than any other human flu virus that has been tested, the report says.

Likeness between 1918 virus and avian strains
The Nature article, by Jeffery Taubenberger and colleagues from the AFIP, reports on an analysis of the three polymerase genes in the 1918 virus, the last three genes to be fully spelled out. The researchers found that these genes closely resembled their counterparts in avian flu viruses.

"The polymerase protein sequences from the 1918 human influenza virus differ from avian consensus sequences at only a small number of amino acids, consistent with the hypothesis that they were derived from an avian source shortly before the pandemic," the report states.

Accordingly, the researchers propose that the 1918 virus was not a "reassortant," like those that caused the smaller pandemics of 1957 and 1968. In those cases, avian flu viruses traded some genes with human-adapted flu viruses to spawn new hybrids. The 1918 virus was "an entirely avian-like virus" that somehow adapted to humans, they suggest.

The report says only 10 amino-acid changes in the polymerase genes consistently distinguish the 1918 virus and subsequent human flu viruses from the same genes in avian viruses. It adds, "A number of the same changes have been found in recently circulating, highly pathogenic H5N1 viruses that have caused illness and death in humans and are feared to be the precursors of a new influenza pandemic."

A news story accompanying the report in Nature says that all eight genes from the 1918 virus differ in important ways from other human flu genes, which suggests that none of the genes came from a flu strain that had previously infected people. "It is the most bird-like of all mammalian flu viruses," Taubenberger is quoted as saying.

According to the Nature news story, some scientists are questioning the wisdom of recreating the 1918 virus and publishing information on how it was done. Richard Ebright, a bacteriologist at Rutgers University in New Jersey, said Tumpey and colleagues "have constructed, and provided procedures for others to construct, a virus that represents perhaps the most effective bioweapons agent now known."

In a news release, the CDC said it used "stringent" precautions in the research. "The work was done in a high-..containment Biosafety Level 3 lab with enhancements that include special provisions to protect both laboratory workers and the public from exposure to the virus," the agency said.

The mysteries of the 1918-1919 influenza pandemic, that killed an estimated 50 million people across the globe, are finally beginning to be solved. Two scientific papers published this week provide insights into the virus that caused the most deadly influenza outbreak in modern history. This virus was unusual because it spread so quickly, was so deadly, and exacted its worst toll among the young and healthy. In just over one year, the virus infected one-third of the world’s population with death rates approximately 50 times higher than those associated with regular seasonal influenza.

The harsh reality of the 1918 pandemic is never far from the minds of scientists and public health officials who are monitoring the current influenza outbreak occurring in Asia. Since December 2003, a strain of influenza virus that usually infects only birds has sickened at least 116 people and killed 60 in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. This virus, known as H5N1 avian influenza A virus, has killed or forced the culling of more than 100 million chickens in 13 countries, has infected ducks and other migratory birds, and has been transmitted to tigers, cats, and pigs. So far the virus is not easily passed from birds to humans, and thankfully, is not efficiently spread from one person to another when it does cross species. However, influenza viruses are notoriously capable of changing, and should the avian virus develop the ability to spread easily among people, a worldwide influenza pandemic could ensue, potentially rivaling in impact the 1918-1919 pandemic.

Understanding why and how influenza virus can reach global proportions and cause so many deaths is now an urgent imperative. The new research findings, published in the journals Science and Nature, provide critical clues to the genesis of the 1918 pandemic and why it was so lethal. The findings reveal essential information to help us speed our preparation for—and potentially thwart—the next influenza pandemic. For the first time, researchers have deciphered the entire gene sequence of the 1918 virus and have used sophisticated techniques to assemble viruses that bear some or all of these genes so their effects can be understood. Importantly, they have identified gene sequences that may predict when an influenza virus strain is likely to spread among humans. They also have determined in the test tube and in mice which genes are most likely to account for the lethal effects of the 1918 virus.

The new studies could have an immediate impact by helping scientists focus on detecting changes in the evolving H5N1 virus that might make widespread transmission among humans more likely. For example, on the basis of these studies we know that the H5N1 virus currently circulating in Asia has acquired five of the 10 gene sequence changes associated with human-to-human transmission in the 1918 virus. In addition, the findings also may lead to identification of new targets for drugs and vaccines to treat and prevent influenza, now and in the future.

The techniques described in these reports are not new and are already accessible to anyone with the will and means to conduct similar experiments. Nevertheless, some have understandably questioned whether these research findings should be reported in scientific journals because of concern that this knowledge could be used by those with nefarious intent. Prior to publication, these scientific papers were reviewed by the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB), an advisory committee to the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services and to the heads of all federal departments and agencies that conduct or support life science research. The Board was established to provide advice on ways to minimize the possibility that knowledge and technologies emanating from vitally important biological research will be misused to threaten public health or national security. The Board is comprised of members with a broad range of expertise in molecular biology, infectious diseases, biosafety, public health, veterinary medicine, plant health, national security, biodefense, law enforcement, scientific publishing and related fields. The Board unanimously endorsed publication of the manuscripts and recommended “making such information widely available to the scientific community for the purpose of validating the research findings, building upon the research, and advancing the development of diagnostic assays, treatments, and preventative measures.”

The rationale for publishing the results and making them widely available to the scientific community is to encourage additional research at a time when we desperately need to engage the scientific community and accelerate our ability to prevent pandemic influenza. U.S. pledges $8.5 billion for fall swine flu shots

WASHINGTON - U.S. swine flu vaccinations could begin in October with children at schools among the first in line, the Obama administration said Thursday as the president and his Cabinet urged states to figure out now how they'll tackle the virus' all-but-certain resurgence.

"We may end up averting a crisis. That's our hope," said President Barack Obama, who took time away from the G-8 summit in Italy to telephone another summit back home — the 500 state and local health officials meeting to prepare for swine flu's fall threat.

No final decision has been made on whether to vaccinate Americans, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stressed. That depends largely on studies with experimental batches that are set to start the first week of August — to see if they're safe and seem to work and to learn whether they require one or two doses.

But if all goes well, the federal government will buy vaccine from manufacturers and share it for free among the states, which must then "try and get this in the arms of the targeted population as soon as possible," Sebelius said.

"We have already appropriated about a billion dollars to buy the bulk ingredients," Sebelius said. She said another $7.5 billion was available from emergency preparedness funds.

First in line probably will be school-age children, young adults with risky conditions such as asthma, pregnant women and health workers, she said. Unlike regular winter flu, the swine flu seems more dangerous to these groups than to older people.

"Schools are natural places" to offer those vaccines, Education Secretary Arne Duncan said.

It will be confusing, Sebelius acknowledged. Doctors' offices, clinics and even grocery stores will be in the midst of dispensing 100 million-plus doses of regular winter flu vaccine — and the swine flu vaccine, which will roll out slowly, will require at least one completely separate inoculation.

"We know a mass vaccination program of even modest scale will involve extraordinary effort on your part," Sebelius told state health workers.

She also announced $350 million in grants to help states prepare, money to be used partly to brace hospitals for a surge of demand from the truly sick and the well-but-worried.

Promoting vigilance
"We want to make sure we are not promoting panic but we are promoting vigilance and preparation," Obama told the gathering.

State officials welcomed the funds but had more practical questions for the feds, starting with what they learned from the chaos when swine flu first burst on the scene last spring and schools around the country closed because of sick students.

Since then, the virus has infected an estimated 1 million Americans and still is spreading, remarkable considering influenza usually can't tolerate summer's heat and humidity.

"What I need from all of you is an idea of when it is best to close, when it is necessary to close and when it's not," said Belinda Pustka, superintendent of Texas' Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District.

"Closing school is a last resort not a first resort," Duncan stressed, but he said schools need to plan how they'll keep students learning if they do have to close for extended periods.

Pustka's schools posted assignments online. But Sue Todey of Wisconsin's Department of Public Education said that between rural geography and poverty, many students don't have the necessary Internet access and she's exploring using public television or old-fashioned sending home of paper assignments.

Support for the infected
An even bigger problem: When schools close and working parents need to stay home — or any worker gets sick — too often, they don't get paid, said Paul Jarris of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. So they come to work, spreading infection.

"How are we going to assist people who don't have benefits?" he asked.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said she was working with the Labor Department to address that question, and she urged employers to allow telecommuting and make other provisions should swine flu hit their workplaces this fall.

Swine flu outbreaks in the fall are all but certain given its continued spread here — 50 outbreaks in children's summer camps so far — and abroad, with major problems in parts of the Southern Hemisphere.

What doctors can't predict is how bad it will be during the U.S. flu season, but Obama's team of heavy-hitters spent Thursday warning against complacency.

Even if swine flu proves no more deadly than regular winter flu, which kills 36,000 Americans a year, teenagers and young adults are being disproportionately hit, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And both types could very well spread at the same time this fall.

"If it doesn't happen, we'll be fortunate," Sebelius added.

I have received an email saying that government officials are instructing people who work for coroners offices’ in Arkansas to prepare to dig mass graves for pandemic victims, informing these officials that they will receive an innoculation against the “pandemic” flu but their relatives will not.

1st, these officials are giving false information to employees of the coroner’s offices: no one can know in advance how this artificial virus will mutate, and so no vaccine can ever be guaranteed to work even supposing vaccines worked in the first place.

2nd, there can be no valid reason why only a selected few — ie those who have been assigned to dig the mass graves — should receive the vaccine and not their family members. If the US government has spent billions on vaccine stockpiles, and if those vaccines are effective, as the government claims, why shouldn’t there be enough available for the family members of coroner’s officials and why should they be refused it in advance?

3rd, if the government is planning a mass forced vaccination of the people of the USA on the grounds this will protect them against the flu, then why are they so sure in advance there will be so many victims that even the officials of coroner’s offices will be forced to go and dig the graves themselves? Is it because elements in the government know of plans to contaminate the vaccine material with diseases such as live bird flu as happened in Austria where Baxter’s subsidiary was caught sending out 72 kilos of the world’s deadliest bioweapon this year, an action for which it is being investigated by the police?

4th, how could the government know that a pandemic outbreak was inevitable given the fact that neither the bird flu nor the swine flu are natural viruses but artificial viruses unless elements within the government intended to release those viruses as part of a premeditated plan of mass murder also by means of vaccination?

5th, why are elements of the government, such as Homeland Security and FEMA, setting up isolated camps with incinerators, mass graves inside the USA unless they are planning genocide?

Merck's Gardasil vaccine causes death, collapse and chronic illness in young woman and girls, including a new, never-before described "disease" called Juvenile ALS, a fatal condition in which the nervous system is slowly destroyed while consciousness remains unimpaired. This vaccine increases cervical cancer by 44.7% in women and girls who already have Human Papilloma Virus. Cervical Cancer is easily detected and cured in early stages and is not a major killer of women. Gardasil contains substances which may cause sterility in women receiving it and any protection lasts only a few years, so 9 year olds will probably not be sexually active by the time this protection has worn off. 9. Baxter International Inc. was in the process of applying for a contract to provide Avian Flu vaccines to European countries in the event of an Avian Flu epidemic. Its Austrian laboratory shipped Seasonal Flu vaccines to 18 countries in Europe. A laboratory technician tested the Baxter Seasonal Flu vaccines sent to the Czech Republic and discovered that they were contaminated with a highly pathogenic version of the Avian Flu, 72 Kilograms of it, although Level 3 precautions were in place and such contamination "could not have happened accidentally" according to experts in the field. No documentation of the destruction of this highly infective material has been provided although the Austrian Health Ministry insists that the deadly viral material was destroyed. (Fact, 2008, 2009)

10. A WHO investigation into the Baxter contaminated vaccine issue resulted in NO findings and in NO disciplinary actions. An Austrian investigation into the same events yielded the same results. (Fact, 2009)

This goes with the article on the pandemic that CNN wrote about and then purged the link, but they said this pandemic is 1 part swine flu, 1 part avian flu, 1 part regular flu and one part something else that I don't remember (I think it was anthrax and this is probably why it got pulled). But that swine flu has never been seen before, according to WHO, BECAUSE ITS A BIOWEAPON AND THIS IS ANOTHER 9-11 FALSE FLAG TO TAKE OUR GUNS and begin depopulation for greater control.... count on it. Remember the baxter fiasco that got blown when they tried to send avian flu with the regular flu in vaccines to Europe and it got caught. the reason they combined the two flues was due to the ability of the regular flu to aid the avian flu in passing from person to person. This is also why 89 scientists, mostly microbiologists with DNA sequencing expertise are dead since 9-11. DNA sequencing tells us which BIOWEAPONS FACILITY THE DAMN BUG CAME FROM. Now this will be murder if this crosses our border and kills even one more American.... [-] Text [+] GENEVA (Reuters) - The World Health Organization said on Friday it was calling an emergency committee to advise whether outbreaks of swine flu in humans in the United States and Mexico constituted an international public health threat.


A deadly strain of swine flu never seen before has broken out in Mexico, killing as many as 60 people and raising fears of a possible spread across North America.


"WHO will convene, sometime in the very near future, an emergency committee under the International Health Regulations, which will consider whether or not this event constitutes a public health event of international concern," WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl told Reuters in Geneva.


Hartl also said that 12 of 18 samples taken from victims in Mexico showed the virus had a genetic structure identical to that of a swine flu virus found in California.


But more epidemiological information was needed before any change to the WHO's pandemic alert level, currently at '3' on a scale of 1 to 6, he said.


"The technical people in our organization are saying that before we know how pandemic a virus can be, we need to know how efficiently it is transmitting and how widespread it is," Hartl said.

Blaine thanks for the refresher info. Did you notice the article about Guadalupe County Emergency Management Coordinator Dan Kinsey, San Antonio and their preparation for the flu and vaccination of thousands? The article (which I sent as a bulletin called "Something wicked this way comes" was written on March 19th, I believe and then I look at a google map with the H1N1 virus (Swine flu) and San Antonio has a case of this flu in the following month of April. Can you confirm this? This is scary.

We cannot fight this with our guns we cannot rise up against it. I believe this is how they intend to kill us all and the ones who survive will be tricked into going to safe houses fema camps. GENEVA – An outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and the United States is a quickly evolving situation that has "pandemic potential," the head of the World Health Organization said Saturday before an emergency meeting of flu experts.


WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said the North American outbreak of a never-before-seen virus was a very serious situation.


She called Saturday's emergency meeting to consider declaring an international public health emergency over the outbreak, which is believed to have killed dozens of people in Mexico and sickened at least eight in the U.S.


The experts are also expected to recommend whether WHO should raise its pandemic alert to a higher level.


At least 62 people have died from severe pneumonia caused by a flu-like illness in Mexico, according to WHO. Some of those who died are confirmed to have a unique version of the A/H1N1 flu virus that is a combination of bird, pig and human viruses.


Mexico has closed schools, museums, libraries and theaters in a bid to contain the outbreak, which may have sickened about 1,000 people there.


"The situation is evolving quickly," Chan said at a telephone news conference in Geneva. "A new disease is by definition poorly understood.


"In the assessment of WHO, this is a serious situation which must be watched very closely."

"This is an animal strain of the H1N1 virus, and it has pandemic potential because it is infecting people," Chan said.


"However, we cannot say, on the basis of currently available laboratory, epidemiological and clinical evidence, whether or not it will indeed cause a pandemic," she added.


It is the first time Chan has convened such a crisis panel since the procedure was created almost two years ago, spokesman Gregory Hartl said.


The committee may decide Saturday that the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency, and if so, whether WHO should consider measures including travel advisories, trade restrictions and border closures.


The global body's flu pandemic alert level is now set to phase three — meaning there is no or very limited risk of a new virus spreading from human to human.

The committee "will be asked, 'should we raise the alert level to phase four or phase five,' depending on their appreciation of how far the virus has spread," Hartl said.

An increased alert level was considered likely, as initial evidence from the outbreak in Mexico indicates the virus has spread between people.
